Modular Mattress Set for Camper Van:
We start with the modular mattress packs, emphasizing the modular design because they are specially created to optimize dining mode, lounge mode, and hammock position—which in our opinion is one of the best features of the kit.
-
Modular mattresses allow you to enjoy the table, the hammock mode, and, most importantly, each compartment has its own mattress section on top. This means that even if the bed is set up, you can still access the compartments without dismantling the whole bed every time.
-
Everyone has their own lifestyle—whether it's ending the day at the beach, in the mountains, cycling, climbing, or simply city touring, having the hammock position at sunset is a unique pleasure. It's like having a portable sofa to enjoy the horizon, the "garden of your mobile home," or even to watch a movie or series on your tablet or laptop.
As with all our Camper Furniture Kits, the mattress packs are custom-made for each vehicle.
Frequently Asked Questions
1. Do you feel the joints between the pieces when sleeping?
In the vast majority of vehicles, no. Since they are made to measure, the mattresses fit wall-to-wall, tightly pressed so they feel like a single piece. At the rear, the trunk acts as a stop, and at the front the driver and passenger seats prevent movement—so no gaps open when sleeping.
2. What material are the mattresses made of, and do they include memory foam?
Our mattress packs are made from high-density foam, 8 cm thick. Normally, we do not include memory foam, and here's why:
-
High-density foam characteristics: Firm density per cubic meter, recommended for people up to approx. 95 kg. Ideal for seats, camper mattresses, upholstery—where durability and firmness are required. It keeps its shape and firmness over time.
-
Why 8 cm? Camper mattresses usually range from 6–10 cm. We chose 8 cm as the perfect balance: thick enough for comfort, while ensuring that our kits (furniture + mattress + storage tray) fit into small and medium vans. With 8 cm and the right density, comfort is excellent without sacrificing space.
-
Do you feel the wood underneath? Absolutely not. Our mattresses are truly comfortable, proven by years of customer satisfaction. We always invite those nearby to visit our workshop and try them in person.
About Memory Foam (Viscoelastic)
While memory foam is excellent for home mattresses (with thicker bases and multiple layers), it is not effective in camper mattresses that are only 6–10 cm thick.
-
In thinner mattresses, memory foam reduces the durability of the base foam and provides very little noticeable improvement in comfort.
-
From our own experience, even when we tried using memory foam in the past, the difference was so subtle it felt like a placebo effect.
-
Technically, memory foam is a blend of foam and latex, and works best with thicker structures (like home mattresses). Applied in camper mattresses, the effect is "mini" and not worth the trade-off in durability.
For these reasons, we normally do not recommend memory foam. Still, if a customer wants it, we can add it for a small supplement.

Camper Mattress Pack in 3 Pieces or Accordion Style
In most cases, Camper Furniture Kits are equipped with a table (which we generally recommend). However, there are occasions where, due to the height of the users or the need to carry large equipment, the interior table is left out.
A clear example would be MPVs or 4x4s, which are lower than standard vans—meaning you can't sit inside without hitting your head on the roof. In these cases, a different type of furniture is used, usually without a table, and most often fitted with 3-piece mattresses.
Why 3 pieces instead of accordion style?
-
Accordion mattresses have the advantage of being connected pieces, so the joints don't separate and cause discomfort.
-
However, their major disadvantage is that when folded, they take up more space and often block part of the rear window visibility.
Our solution and recommendation:
As with our modular mattresses, we design both the furniture and mattresses made to measure. This way, the mattress presses tightly between the driver and passenger headrests at the front and touches the trunk door(s) at the back. The result: the 3 pieces stay together as if they were one single mattress.
This way, you get the main benefit of accordion style (no gaps) but avoid its biggest drawback. Having separate pieces makes storage more versatile and practical.
