Updated Camper Furniture Kit Design with Demo Video
Many of the example photos on our website show camper furniture layouts produced before early 2025. However, all new builds now follow our Updated Camper Furniture Kit Design, as shown in the demo video.
This updated design improves the way the camper van furniture kit is used, stored and adapted to each vehicle. Depending on the model and configuration, the kit can include a bed system, New Design mattress pack, rear kitchen drawer, fridge drawer, table, storage modules, 2+1 layout and accessories such as a 12V shower, portable sink, blackout thermal curtains or auxiliary battery.

Right side – rear kitchen drawer
The right side includes the kitchen drawer, divided into three practical spaces:
Space for a Campingaz single-burner stove. It can also be adapted for a 2-burner stove upon request, where compatible.
Lower compartment for kitchenware such as pots, cutlery, plates and cooking accessories.
Rear pantry-style storage space for food and travel supplies.
Center – multi-use table and portable WC space
The central area is designed for the table. This table can be used as a dining table, in hammock position, inside the vehicle or outside the vehicle. If you prefer not to include a table, the kit can be built without it, although we recommend it because it adds a lot of versatility.
The central space can also be large enough to fit a portable WC, depending on the vehicle model and configuration.
Left side – storage compartment with top and front access
The left side includes a practical storage compartment with top and front access. It is ideal for storing clothes, camping gear, a portable shower, travel accessories or a compact compressor fridge.
For small vans, we usually recommend a 15L compressor fridge, depending on the available space and the chosen configuration.
Bed system – sleeping mode and hammock position
The furniture includes a foldable bed system that can be used in full sleeping position or in hammock position. This allows you to rest semi-reclined inside the vehicle, read, relax or use the space in a more comfortable way during the day.
Small Camper Van Kit Measurements
The exact measurements depend on the vehicle model, generation and interior configuration, but as a general reference:
Width: usually between 110 and 117 cm, and approximately 120 cm with the mattress, with some exceptions depending on the van.
Height: around 35–36 cm.

Medium Van Camper Kit Layout with Extra Storage and 35L Fridge Option
The layout is similar to the small van version, but the rear section is approximately 30 cm longer. This means the front structure remains practical and compact, while the back of the camper furniture kit gains extra storage capacity.
This extended layout can include two additional large-capacity trunks:
Rear trunk for fridge or extra storage
One of the rear trunks is specifically designed to fit a compressor fridge. For medium vans, we usually recommend a 35L compressor fridge, depending on the vehicle model and available space. If you do not install a fridge, this space can be used as a large storage compartment for clothes, food, camping gear or travel equipment.
Rear trunk for outdoor shower or clean water tank
The second large trunk can be used to store an outdoor shower, clean water tank or other travel accessories. This makes the medium van camper conversion kit more complete and practical for longer trips.
Central table and portable WC space
The table compartment remains similar to the smaller kit version. The table can be used inside the vehicle, outside the vehicle or in hammock position. The central area can also allow space for a portable WC, depending on the vehicle model and configuration.
In summary, the front layout remains similar to the small van version, but the rear section is around 30 cm longer, giving you more storage, more accessory options and a more versatile removable camper kit.

In our camper furniture kits for large vans, the layout is designed to take advantage of the extra width and height of this type of vehicle.
Side modules – wider bed and extra storage
In many combi and passenger versions, the wheel arches are visible inside the rear area. We cover them with side modules that help create a wider bed surface and also provide extra storage with top-access lids.
These side modules make the large van camper conversion kit more comfortable, better organized and more practical for longer trips.
Right side – taller rear kitchen drawer
The right side includes the rear kitchen drawer. The layout is similar to the smaller van kits, but the drawer is taller and offers more usable space.

Center – larger multi-use table

A much thicker mattress can significantly reduce the space above the bed, especially in small vans and family cars. On the other hand, a mattress that is too thin may offer insufficient support and make the different parts of the platform more noticeable.
Foam Density and Sleeping Comfort
Comfort does not depend only on thickness. It also depends on foam density, firmness, bed platform quality, weight distribution, body type and personal sleeping habits.
We select a foam that offers a balance between softness and support, avoiding a sleeping surface that feels too hard or too soft.
Comfort remains personal. A lighter person, a heavier person or someone used to a very soft domestic mattress may have different preferences.
Viscoelastic Mattress Layer: Is It Necessary in a Van?
A viscoelastic layer can offer a softer and more enveloping feel, but it is not automatically more comfortable in every camper van mattress configuration.
In a thick domestic mattress, viscoelastic foam is usually combined with several support layers. In a vehicle, the total available thickness is often limited to around 6, 8 or 10 cm.
On a thinner mattress, the result depends strongly on the thickness of the viscoelastic layer, the density of the support foam, the user's weight, the interior temperature and the ventilation under the mattress.
A layer that is too thick or too soft can reduce support and make the platform underneath more noticeable. Viscoelastic foam can also react to temperature and become firmer when it is cold inside the vehicle.
For this reason, our standard solution is a foam adapted to the available thickness and to the structure of our camper furniture kits.
A viscoelastic layer can still be studied on request for customers who want a softer sleeping feel. This option must be confirmed according to the vehicle, total thickness and desired sleeping setup.
