1. Natural Poplar Plywood (€650 with mattress pack included)
Properties & color:
-
Very light color, close to white, with a subtle wood grain.
-
The lightest option: a module for a Berlingo/Combo Life weighs around 30 kg.
-
Moisture-resistant (hydrofuge): not fully waterproof but highly resistant to humidity and splashes.
-
15 mm thickness.
-
Very strong and resistant to splintering or breaking.
-
Pro: the larger the kit, the more noticeable the weight and price advantage.
-
Con: the wood is somewhat soft—although it won't splinter or break easily, it can leave marks if, for example, you sit on it with keys in your pocket.
2. Natural Phenolic Plywood (€650 with mattress pack included)
Properties & color:
-
Natural wood tone, medium to light, with visible grain.
-
15 mm thickness.
-
Lightweight and resistant, with a rustic "cabin-style" look.
-
Slightly heavier than poplar: a module for a Berlingo/Combo Life weighs around 40 kg, but also more resistant.
-
Phenolic treated (waterproof): wood can get wet but won't swell or rot—the treatment is applied inside the wood layers.
-
Pro: more resistant to scratches and marks compared to poplar.
-
Con: the most porous of the three materials.
3. HPL Phenolic Plywood (Coachbuilder Type) (€700 with mattress pack included)
Properties & color:
-
Very dark brown, almost black.
-
15 mm thickness.
-
The most resistant and durable of the three.
-
Fully phenolic treated → waterproof inside and outside.
-
HPL anti-adhesive surface – dirt doesn't stick.
-
The easiest to clean and maintain.
-
Pro: superior durability and premium finish.
-
Con: the heaviest of the three (although still within the lightweight category).
💡 Summary:
-
Poplar plywood → Best for lightweight builds and value.
-
Natural phenolic plywood → Rustic wood look, waterproof, great balance of durability and weight.
-
HPL phenolic plywood → Premium choice: strongest, fully waterproof, and easiest to clean.

Key Features of the Opel Combo Life Camper Kit
The Opel Combo Life Camper Furniture Kit is designed with practical and versatile features to make the most of the available space:
-
Custom pull-out drawer designed for a Campingaz stove (1-burner or larger).
-
Behind the drawer, there is an independent trunk with a top lid.
-
In the center, the kit includes a multi-height table, which can be used both indoors and outdoors.
-
Inside the vehicle, it adapts perfectly to dining mode or lounge mode (as clearly shown in the video).
-
Left-Side Trunk Module
-
On the left side, the kit features a trunk with dual access (top and front lid).
-
Based on our experience, this dual-opening option makes far better use of the available space.
-
It can hold a water container for an outdoor shower or even a portable toilet (Potti).
-
Our recommendation: keep the Potti in the table compartment and, once the kit is unfolded, place it in the front area of the vehicle if needed during meals. This way, the left trunk remains free for water tanks or other gear.
Optional Drawer Configurations
-
The kit can also be built with a double-drawer system. While this may look attractive in photos, it is less practical, as it reduces useful storage space considerably by adding extra wood and runners inside the structure.
-
With full-extension drawers, the lever effect over time is another factor to consider. For these cases, we use reinforced guides capable of supporting 30–40 kg.
Dedicated Fridge Drawer Option
-
If you plan to equip a portable compressor fridge, we do recommend a special sliding fridge drawer, designed specifically for this purpose (as shown in the video).
Design, Dimensions & Durability (2025 Update)
At Kit Mueble Camper, we value not only the aesthetic harmony of the furniture with your vehicle's interior, but also its strength and durability. Following customer requests, we now offer the 2025 Design with a Dark Grey mattress pack.
While looks are important, what we prioritize above all is that our camper furniture is compact, robust, and built to last—with proper care, the kit can even outlast the vehicle itself.
Dimensions of the Opel Combo Life Camper Kit
The dimensions vary depending on the generation (2nd, 3rd, or 4th) and between the M and XL sizes in the current version. Each generation of the Opel Combo Life has slightly increased in size. On this page you can find various videos showing the differences clearly.
-
Width: approx. 115 cm (without mattress pack) / 120 cm (with mattress pack).
-
Bed length: extended to 187 cm in all models, with the option to reach 190 cm if required.
-
Depth: depends on the vehicle generation and version (M or XL).
-
Mattress pack: custom-made for each model, divided into multiple pieces to optimize dining mode, lounge mode, and hammock mode.
For more details, we provide a dedicated link with a full explanation of the mattress pack features and answers to the most frequently asked questions.
Structure & Stability
All our Opel Combo Life Camper Modules include dedicated storage space for the table leg and bed legs, keeping them securely in place so they don't move around while driving. Everything remains neatly stored inside the trunk space.
In every version of the Opel Combo Life, once unfolded, our camper kit distributes weight across three key points. This design has been thoroughly tested to ensure no part of the vehicle is damaged:
-
Main module structure – the largest and most stable base.
-
First unfolding section – rests on top of the seats (either directly or supported by a foldable leg).
-
Second unfolding section – supported by removable legs, which also have a dedicated storage space when not in use.
This three-point load distribution makes the structure solid and compact at all times. The vehicle seats remain fully protected—in fact, they don't suffer any wear, which is a frequent concern from customers. On the contrary, they stay completely safeguarded.
For more details, you can visit our online store to discover all the Opel Combo Life models available, along with special offers across all materials—each including the Dark Grey 2025 mattress pack.
Size M vs. XL – Key Differences
While the appearance of the camper module remains the same, there are two main differences between the M and XL versions:
-
Total bed length → In the Size M, the bed measures 187 cm, while in the XL it can extend up to 220 cm (upon customer request).
-
Structural depth of the module → In the XL version, the trunk module is 30 cm deeper, providing additional storage capacity.
Available Configurations & Compatible Accessories
- With Foldable Sink: The foldable drainer is integrated into a wooden board and can be combined with a 12V shower to function just like a sink. This solution saves space, is more practical, and is also more affordable than a traditional built-in unit.
- Another option is the 12V shower itself. Water is essential not only for drinking, but also for everyday hygiene wherever you are. With the shower you can wash dishes or containers, rinse your feet after a day at the beach, brush your teeth outdoors, and even enjoy a refreshing shower on the go.
- You can also add a second camper battery, which provides extra power for longer trips and off-grid adventures. A dedicated link is available with all the information, along with the option to add it directly to your shopping cart.
