Materials & Pricing (2025 Design)

Properties & color:

• Very light in color, almost white, with a subtle wood grain.

• The lightest option: a full module for a Berlingo/Rifter weighs around 30 kg.

• Moisture-resistant (hydrofuge): not 100% waterproof but highly resistant to humidity and occasional splashes.

• 15 mm thickness.

• Tough and durable—hard to splinter or break.

• Pro: the larger the kit, the more you'll notice the advantage in weight and price.

• Con: the wood is somewhat soft—although it doesn't splinter or break easily, it can mark if, for example, you sit on it with keys in your pocket.

2. Natural Phenolic Plywood (€650 with mattress pack included)

Properties & color:

• Natural wood tone, medium to light with visible grain.

• 15 mm thickness.

• Slightly heavier than poplar, around 40 kg for a Berlingo/Rifter kit, but also more resistant.

• More rustic "cabin-style" look—ideal for those who like a warm wooden interior feel.

• Phenolic treated (waterproof): wood can get wet but won't swell or rot—the treatment is applied between the interior layers.

• Pro: more resistant to scratches and marks compared to poplar.

• Con: the most porous of the three materials.

3. HPL Phenolic Plywood (Coachbuilder Type) (€700 with mattress pack included)

Properties & color:

• Very dark brown, almost black.

• 15 mm thickness.

• The most resistant and longest-lasting material of the three.

• Fully phenolic treated: waterproof both inside and outside.

• HPL anti-adhesive surface—dirt doesn't stick.

• Easiest to clean and maintain.

• Pro: unbeatable durability and finish.

• Con: the heaviest of the three (though still within the "lightweight" category).

• Poplar plywood → Best for lightweight builds and value.

• Natural phenolic plywood → Rustic wood look, waterproof, good balance of weight & durability.

• HPL phenolic plywood → Premium choice: most durable, waterproof inside & out, easy to clean.

Peugeot Rifter Camper Kit Features

The Peugeot Rifter Camper Furniture Kit is designed with smart, functional details to maximize space and comfort:

• Custom pull-out drawer designed for a Campingaz stove (1-burner or larger).

• Behind the drawer, there is an independent trunk with a top lid.

• In the center, the kit includes a multi-height table that can be used both inside and outside the vehicle.

  • Indoors, it adapts to dining mode or lounge mode, with a hammock-style seating setup (as shown in the video).

Left-side trunk module

• On the left side, the kit features a trunk with dual access (top and front lid).

• Based on our experience, this dual-opening option makes the most efficient use of space.

• It can be equipped with a water container for an outdoor shower or even a portable toilet (Potti).

• Our recommendation: store the Potti in the table compartment, and once the kit is unfolded, place it in the front area of the vehicle if needed during meals. This way, the left trunk remains free for water tanks or other gear.

Optional drawer configurations

• The kit can also be built with a double-drawer system. While this may look attractive in photos, it is less practical—you end up adding wood and runners inside the structure, which reduces storage space considerably.

• Additionally, with full-extension drawers, the lever effect over time should be considered. For these cases, we use reinforced guides capable of supporting 30–40 kg.

Special fridge drawer option

• If you plan to add a portable compressor fridge, we do recommend a dedicated sliding fridge drawer—a custom solution designed specifically for this purpose (as shown in the video).

Dimensions of the Peugeot Rifter Camper Kit

The size of the kit varies between the M and XL versions. On this page you can find several videos that clearly show the different layouts.

• Width: approx. 115 cm (without mattress pack) / 120 cm (with mattress pack).

• Bed length: extended to 187 cm in all models, with the option to reach 190 cm if required.

• Depth: depends on the vehicle version and generation (see previous section).

• Mattress pack: custom-made for each model, divided into multiple pieces to optimize dining mode, lounge mode and hammock mode.

Structure & Stability

All our Peugeot Rifter Camper Modules include dedicated storage space for the table leg and bed legs, so they remain securely stored and do not move around during travel. Everything is neatly contained within the trunk area.

Once unfolded inside the Rifter, our camper kit distributes weight across three key points, carefully tested to ensure no part of the vehicle is damaged:

1. Main module structure – the largest, most stable base.

2. First unfolding section – rests on top of the seats (either directly or with a foldable leg).

3. Second unfolding section – supported by removable legs, which also have a dedicated storage space when not in use.

This three-point load distribution makes the structure solid and compact at all times. The vehicle seats remain fully protected—in fact, they do not suffer any wear, which is a common concern among customers.

Design 2025

While the appearance of the camper module remains the same, there are two main differences between the Size M and Size XL versions:

• Total bed length → In the Size M, the bed measures 187 cm, while in the XL it can extend up to 220 cm (upon customer request).

• Structural depth of the module → In the XL version, the trunk module is 30 cm deeper, providing extra storage capacity compared to the M version.

• With Foldable Sink: The foldable drainer is integrated into a wooden board and can be combined with a 12V shower to function just like a sink. It saves space, is practical, and also more affordable than a traditional built-in unit.
