• Very light, almost white colour, with a subtle natural wood grain

• It is the lightest material of all – a medium-sized camper module can weigh around 30 kg, making it extremely easy to handle and install

• Moisture-resistant (water-repellent): very resistant to humidity and with good behaviour against occasional water contact

• Thickness: 15 mm

• Very resistant and difficult to chip or break under normal use

• The bigger the furniture, the more you notice the advantage of its low weight

Contra / Consideration:
The wood is slightly softer, so while it doesn't chip or break easily, it can mark if you sit or lean on very sharp or hard objects (for example, sitting directly on a bunch of keys).

• Natural Phenolic Plywood (Contrachapado fenólico de madera natural) – 900€ with mattress pack included

Properties and colour:

• Natural wood tone, from medium to light, with visible wood grain

• Thickness: 15 mm

• A lightweight but very resistant material, with a more rustic, warm and "cabin-style" look — perfect if you like a cosy wooden interior

• Slightly heavier than poplar, but also more resistant to dents, so marks are less likely to show

• A similar camper module in this material can weigh around 40 kg

• It is phenolic, which means it is waterproof at the internal layers: the wood can get wet, but it does not swell or rot, as the phenolic treatment is applied between the internal sheets

Contra / Consideration:
It is the most porous of the three finishes, so it may retain a bit more texture on the surface, although this does not affect its structural performance.

• HPL Coachbuilder Phenolic Plywood (Contrachapado fenólico de carrocero tipo HPL) – 950€ with mattress pack included

Properties and colour:

• Very dark brown, almost black finish, with a premium, professional look

• Thickness: 15 mm

• It is the most resistant material of all, with the greatest durability and quality — ideal for intensive use, rentals or full-time vanlife

• It is also phenolic, so it is fully waterproof, with impermeable interior and exterior layers

• HPL anti-adherent surface: dirt doesn't stick easily, and it's extremely easy to clean

• Best option for heavy-duty use, frequent loading/unloading, and for people who want a "forever camper kit"

Contra / Consideration:
It is the heaviest of the three materials, although still within the lightweight plywood category. In real use, the difference is noticeable but very manageable in a large van like the Renault Master, especially considering the extra durability and protection it offers.

Whichever material you choose, all three are designed specifically for camper van furniture, offering:

• Low weight compared to standard carpentry boards

Renault Master Camper Furniture Layout – Bed, Kitchen Drawer & Smart Storage

The Renault Master camper furniture kit is designed as a compact, modular camper box that makes the most of the rear area of your van. The main module includes:

• A custom pull-out kitchen drawer for a Campingaz-style stove (1 burner or larger)

• Behind the drawer, an independent storage chest with a top-opening lid

• In the centre, a multi-position table that works:

  • As an indoor dining table

  • In lounge / "hammock" mode (as seen clearly in the video)

  • As an outdoor table when you're cooking or eating outside

Behind the table, the kit includes another top-lid storage chest. On the left-hand side, the Renault Master camper box is equipped with two chests with both top and front access:

• The rear left chest is designed to fit a compressor fridge, such as our recommended Coolzone 35L compressor fridge for camper vans

• The front left chest with front opening is ideal for a 12V outdoor shower, water canister or extra camping gear

From our experience, the left chest with double opening (top + front) is the most practical option, as it allows you to:

• Make better use of the vertical and horizontal space

• Equip a water jerrycan for the outdoor shower

• Store a portable toilet (WC "Potti") when needed

Our usual recommendation is to place the Potti in the central table area when travelling, and once the camper box is deployed, move it to the front area of the vehicle if needed. This way, you keep the left storage chest free for the water tank, shower equipment or other camping accessories.

The kit also includes side modules that cover the wheel arches, creating a practically full-width bed from wall to wall. These side modules have top-opening lids so that this space is also used as storage; we usually suggest:

• Using one side for bedding (duvet, pillows, blankets)

• Using the other side for clothes in use or laundry

If you prefer, the Renault Master camper furniture kit can be built with a double drawer at the rear. The price does not change, but we generally do not recommend this option. Visually it may look attractive in photos, but in real use:

• You're adding more slides and wood inside wood, which reduces the useful storage space considerably

• The lever effect on full-extension drawers over time is important to consider in large vans

For customers who still want this option, we install reinforced telescopic slides that support around 30–40 kg, ensuring safe and durable operation.

Dimensions & Mattress Pack for the Renault Master Camper Box
