Custom Camper Furniture Kits for Toyota Proace City

Tailor-made camper kits designed to fit perfectly in both Size M and XL versions, across all Proace City generations since 2019.

We specialize in equipping vans with custom camper furniture kits, and today we bring you the Toyota Proace City camper conversion in both L1 (M) and L2 (XL) versions, across all generations.

Our Toyota Proace City and Proace City Verso camper kits share the same "chassis box" as the Citroën Berlingo, Peugeot Rifter, and Opel Combo Life—models that are already benchmarks in the camper sector. Toyota made a smart choice adopting this platform, offering one of the most versatile bases for camper conversions.

This makes the Toyota Proace City, whether Combi or Verso, in Size L1 or L2, one of our most popular and well-loved models to camperize.

Since its launch in 2019 in Spain, the current generation remains in production and we foresee many successful years ahead for this vehicle as a reference in the compact camper van market.

Materials & Pricing (2025 Design)

The Toyota Proace City Camper Kit can be built in different materials, each with similar properties but unique advantages. Below you'll find the details and pricing for each option.

1. Natural Poplar Plywood (€650 with mattress pack included)

Properties & color:

  • Very light tone, almost white, with subtle wood grain.

  • The lightest option: a camper module for a Proace City or Berlingo weighs around 30 kg, making it very easy to handle.

  • Moisture-resistant (hydrofuge): not fully waterproof, but highly resistant to humidity and splashes.

  • 15 mm thickness.

  • Very durable—hard to splinter or break.

  • Pro: the larger the module, the more you notice the weight and price advantage.

  • Con: the wood is somewhat soft—although it won't splinter or break easily, it can leave marks if, for example, you sit on it with keys in your pocket.

2. Natural Phenolic Plywood (€650 with mattress pack included)

Properties & color:

  • Medium to light natural wood tone with visible grain.

  • 15 mm thickness.

  • Lightweight and strong, with a rustic, cabin-style finish.

  • Slightly heavier than poplar: a full camper kit for a Proace City weighs around 40 kg, but also more resistant.

  • Phenolic treated (waterproof): wood can get wet without swelling or rotting—the treatment is inside the wood layers.

  • Pro: more resistant to scratches and marks compared to poplar.

  • Con: the most porous of the three materials.

3. HPL Phenolic Plywood (Coachbuilder Type) (€700 with mattress pack included)

Properties & color:

  • Very dark brown, almost black.

  • 15 mm thickness.

  • The most resistant and durable material of the three.

  • Fully phenolic treated → waterproof both inside and outside.

  • HPL anti-adhesive surface – dirt doesn't stick.

  • The easiest to clean and maintain.

  • Pro: superior durability and premium finish.

  • Con: the heaviest of the three (though still within the "lightweight" category).

💡 Summary:

  • Poplar plywood → Best for lightweight builds and affordability.

  • Natural phenolic plywood → Rustic look, waterproof, good balance of resistance and weight.

  • HPL phenolic plywood → Premium choice: most durable, fully waterproof, and easiest to clean.

Key Features of the Toyota Proace City Camper Kit

From the pull-out stove drawer and independent trunk to the multi-height indoor/outdoor table—discover the smart features that make our kit unique.

The Toyota Proace City Camper Furniture Kit is designed with smart, practical features to maximize space and comfort:

  • A custom pull-out drawer designed to fit a Campingaz stove (1 burner or larger).

  • Behind the drawer, there is an independent trunk with a top lid.

  • In the center, a multi-height table can be used both inside and outside the vehicle. Indoors, it easily adapts to dining mode or lounge mode, as shown in the video.

Left-side trunk module

On the left side, the kit includes a trunk with dual opening (top and front lid). Based on our experience, this setup makes the most efficient use of space. It can be equipped with a water container for an outdoor shower or even a portable toilet (Potti).

  • Our recommendation: store the Potti in the table compartment, and once the kit is unfolded, place it at the front of the vehicle when needed during meals. This keeps the left trunk free for water tanks or other gear.

Optional drawer configurations

The kit can also be built with a double-drawer system. While this may look attractive in photos, it is less practical, since it reduces available storage space considerably by adding extra wood and runners inside the structure.

  • With full-extension drawers, the lever effect over time is also a factor to consider. For these cases, we use reinforced guides that support between 30–40 kg.

Special fridge drawer

If you plan to equip a portable compressor fridge, we do recommend adding a dedicated sliding fridge drawer—a custom-built solution designed specifically for this purpose (as shown in the video).

Design, Dimensions & Durability (2025 Update)

Compact, robust and long-lasting—our camper furniture is built to outlast the vehicle itself. See exact sizes, bed length options and mattress details.

At Kit Mueble Camper, we care about more than just functionality—we also value the aesthetic harmony between our furniture and your vehicle's interior. That's why, based on customer requests, we now offer the 2025 Design series in Pearl White finish, paired with a Dark Grey mattress pack.

While looks are important, what we value above all is strength and durability. Our camper kits are built to be compact, solid, and long-lasting—with proper care, your Toyota Proace City camper kit can even outlast the vehicle itself.

Dimensions of the Toyota Proace City Camper Kit

The size of the kit varies depending on the model version (M or XL). On this page you'll find videos that clearly show these differences.

  • Width: approx. 115 cm (without mattress pack) / 120 cm (with mattress pack).

  • Bed length: extended to 187 cm in all models, with the option to reach 190 cm if required.

  • Depth: varies depending on the Proace City generation and version (M or XL).

  • Mattress pack: custom-made for each model, divided into multiple pieces to optimize dining mode, lounge mode, and hammock mode.

Structure & Stability

Engineered for strength and safety with 3-point weight distribution—solid, compact and protecting your vehicle's original seats at all times.

All our Toyota Proace City camper modules include a dedicated storage space for the table leg and bed legs, keeping them neatly stored inside the trunk so they don't move around while driving.

Once unfolded, our camper kit for the Toyota Proace City distributes weight across three key points. This design has been thoroughly tested to ensure that no part of the vehicle suffers any damage:

  1. Main camper module structure – the largest and most stable base.

  2. First unfolding section – rests on the seats, either directly or supported by a foldable leg.

  3. Second unfolding section – supported by removable legs, which also have a dedicated storage space when not in use.

This three-point weight distribution makes the structure solid and compact at all times. The vehicle's seats remain fully protected—in fact, they do not suffer any wear, which is a common concern among customers. On the contrary, the seats are completely safeguarded.

Design 2025

Size M vs XL – Key Difference

Both versions look identical, but the XL offers a longer bed (up to 220 cm) and an extra 30 cm of trunk depth for greater storage capacity.

While the appearance of the camper module remains the same, there are two main differences between the M and XL versions:

  • Total bed length → In the Size M, the bed measures 187 cm, while in the XL it can extend up to 220 cm (upon customer request).

  • Structural depth of the module → In the XL version, the trunk module is 30 cm deeper, providing additional storage capacity.

Available Configurations & Compatible Accessories

  • The Toyota Proace City Camper Kit can also be equipped with a Foldable sink. The collapsible drainer is integrated into a wooden board and can be combined with a 12V shower, allowing it to work just like a traditional sink. This smart solution saves space, is practical to use, and is also more affordable than a built-in unit.
  • Another highly useful accessory is the 12V shower itself. Water is essential not only for drinking but also for everyday hygiene wherever you are. With this portable shower you can wash dishes or containers, rinse your feet after a day at the beach, brush your teeth outdoors, and even enjoy a refreshing shower while on the road.
  • You can also add a second camper battery, providing extra power for longer trips and off-grid adventures. A dedicated link is available with full details and the option to add it directly to your shopping cart.
